We want to help Rhode Island's Children

The mission of Friends of RI CASA is to support, recruit and train volunteers of the CASA Program within the state of RI

CASA's goal is to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy so that every abused of neglected child can be safe, establish permanence and have the opportunity to thrive.

Friends of RI CASA dedicate themselves to supporting CASA Volunteers of RI and the children that they advocate for in Family Court.
Mission
We aim to train, retain and support all CASA volunteers who are standing up for neglected and abused children in the RI Family Court System.

CASA  (Court Appointed Special Advocates) speak up for neglected and abused children in the state of Rhode Island.

We started as a small group of who care about the safety and well being of our children.

CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in inappropriate group or foster homes. Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives.

Independent research has demonstrated that children with a CASA volunteer are substantially less likely to spend time in long-term foster care and less likely to reenter care.
